Scrapbooking Projects — Terrific Tags, Journaling Blocks,
& Other Accents

Accenting
a scrapbook project with a coordinating tag sometimes
pushes the project from being boring to exciting. And
adding journaling blocks ensures the stories behind the
photos are captured—even the short stories!
While many books or sets of scrapbooking papers now include
some matching die cuts, it’s still often necessary to
create your own page decorations. To make my own tags and
accents, I combine papers and cardstock with stamps and
templates. Utilizing many of the techniques from other
scrapbooking projects, I can create decorative accents that
perfectly match my pages, cards, boxes, mini books, and
more.
Have you discovered all the great doodlebats out on
scrapbooking font websites? You can find journaling blocks,
swirls, icons, decorated words—nearly anything you need to
dress up a scrapbooking project. Simply type a letter or
word, size it, and you have a wonderful accent to print and
use.
Templates and rubber or clear stamps are versatile and
handy when creating accents for scrapbooking projects. Use
a tag or label or journaling template to create your base,
then decorate it with stamped swirls, words, icons, and
more.
Here are some tags and other accents to help spark ideas
for your own scrapbooking projects. I’ll keep adding pieces
as they’re created.
